Sen Onyewuchi Ezenwa Francis
Born on 2nd April 1968 in Imo State. The lawmaker is currently serving his second term as a Senator representing Imo East Senatorial District under the platform of Labour Party (LP). He was elected in June 2019 and he is the Vice-Chairman, Senate Committee on State and local government from June 2019 to June 2023.
Sen Onyewuchi represented the Owerri-Municipal/Owerri-North/West-Federal Constituency of Imo State from June 2011 to June 2015 under the platform of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) in the Federal House of Representatives. He served as a member of the following committees; Land & Transport, Water Resources, Poverty Alleviation, Human Rights, Gas Resources, and Federal Character.
Onyewuchi was a former member of the Finance Committee of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA).
Hon Onyewuchi later defected to the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and was 2015 re-elected into the House and served as a member, House Committees on Millennium Development Goals, and Labour, Employment & productivity. His legislative interest revolves around poverty alleviation and human development.
