Sen Ireti Heebah Kingibe
Born on June 2, 1954, in Kano State, the Lawmaker is currently serving her first term as a Senator representing the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Senatorial District in the 10th National Assembly.
Senator Ireti is one of the only three women Senators elected into the 10th Assembly.
Before joining politics in 1990, between 1978 to 1994, Senator Ireti worked in different engineering capacities with organisations such as Bradley Precast Concrete Inc., Minnesota Department of Transportation Design unit, New Nigeria Construction Company, Kaduna, Belsam Limited, and Lodigiani Nigeria Limited Lagos.
In 1990, Senator Ireti was appointed the Adviser to the National Chairman of the defunct Social Democratic Party (SDP). In 2003, she contested for the FCT Senatorial seat under the platform of the All Nigeria People's Party (NNPP) but lost.
Defecting from NNPP to the People's Democratic Party in 2006, Ireti later joined the now ruling party, the All Progressive Congress (APC), in 2014. In 2015, she indicated interest to run for the Senatorial seat under the APC but withdrew from the race.
In 2022, Senator Ireti Joined the Labour Party and won the 2023 National Assembly election to represent the FCT Senatorial District in the 10th Assembly.
